Beauty And The Box

I'm posting this because it is a gorgeous creation! As you can see, this tissue box cover consists of 4 sides with 2 different designs. It may look complicated, but the only problem I had with it was running out of light blue yarn! :) This was the first time I had sewed a box together with two different-colored yarns. The design is by Conn Baker Gibney and here is a book by him!

Curved To Perfection

What makes this tissue box cover different from any average one is that it has a curved top, giving it 8 pieces instead of 5. I've always loved that about this one! The flowers give it a very colorful, finished look. The design is by Kathy Wirth who makes a variety of needlepoint creations.

Animation Stitched Anew!

I made the Little Mermaid creation in 2005 and it was my first attempt at capturing an image without using a blueprint-meaning there was no pattern book involved. The design came from a Disney picture book.
The SpongeBob was my second ever creation-in 2006- and I was so proud of how it came along.
the design was from a SpongeBob wallet I had. You're probably wondering why he has no arms, well......I was gonna make him into a doll, but that didn't work out:)
The Krusty the Clown is probably my best animation creation to date and I'm exceptionally proud of him! The design is from a magazine. I made this one also in the 2006.

Roaring Tiger Handbag

This handbag was originally designed as a wall-hanging by the talented Rhonda Bryce ,but I turned it into a larger handbag by clashing with the work of another handbag design. The size is maybe 5 inches taller than a sheet of notebook paper........to be honest I think it's the best work I've ever done!! How does it look to you?

Cute Purse With Buttons

I saw this beautiful needlepoint artwork and I thought I might share with you! This bag is by the innovative Danielle Thompson.

Obama Box Feat

I made this President Obama tissue box cover as a tribute to the 2009 inauguration, and of course my vote goes to him! His lovely face is on all four sides. This design was originally a coaster design until I magically transformed it with my needlepoint skills. :) What's your vote?

A Quilter's Village (One Might Say)

I spent much of my free time working on these beautiful things. They've even got doorbells on the front! I must say that gluing on the roofs was a tough job, but worth it. The yellow house is my favorite as it clashes beautifully with the blue windows. The two things that tell an observer this is a quilt house is the hand-stitched quilt in the front window and the sign over that window reading "QUILTS".

Piano Rose Tissue Box Cover

This tissue box cover was so easy to make with the exception of the rose......Gluing on the rose was quite complicated, but such a great outcome! This design is by the fabulous Sandra Miller Maxfield, whose primary design is crocheting. What do you think?

Toaster Coasters from Cute 'N' Clever Coaster Sets! So much fun

The coaster holder is the "toaster" and I couldn't find  the right silver, so I just went with a light lilac-colored yarn scheme. The coasters are four pieces of "toast". This set even has a black lever for the "toaster" and a cute little purple jam that I just love. :) This pattern was designed by MizFitz in 1999.

Welcome to Z Designs!

Mine is a blog that shows you the bulk of my recent needlepoint work! I've made different tissue box covers and my own designs in the past for fun and if you see creations that please the eye, feel free to contact me. I also do Paper cutouts of all forms.
I'm a mostly self-taught needleworker who has been doing needlepoint since the age of 7. My favorite designs are miniature houses. I myself have made many of my own designs-including SpongeBob and The Little Mermaid.
I invite people to come out and share their ideas and opinions as fellow needleworkers and potential customers. Ciao!
